The Day of Frocking!
On November 16, 2007 I am happy to announce that Richard was Frocked to HM3. This is such a huge milestone. This ritual of Frocking someone to the next rank will seperate him from the most Junior of Sailors and put him in the world of Enlisted Petty Officers. Even though for him he was already playing the rule of a responsible Petty Officer now he has the rank to help him carry out his mission. Way to go Richard!!!! Here are some pictures I would like to share with you so that you can share in this happiness with him and I.
Here is Richard with some fellow Sailors who are about to be Frocked to 3rd class as well.

It is almost his turn to be an HM3!

Down our way.
Here is what happened since the last time I wrote a blog....
On Nov. 12, 2007 Richard and I decided to babysit Lexi, A.J. and Avery instead of go to the Marine Corps Ball. We both figured we will have plenty of them to go to once we are both stationed in Camp Lejeune. So instead we played Twister, Candy Land and Chutes N' Ladders. It was a wise choice on both of our parts. We had so much fun.... Here are the pics to prove it.

My turn to play!! I think Richard won!
Now for the great stuff....
On Nov. 16, 2007 Richard found out he made HM3. This is one achievement to celebrate. Not only did he do this on his first time taking the test but he got HM3 within a matter of being in just over a year. Most people take this test three to four times before making it and have been in over two years. He is soon to be frock'ed (which means eligible to wear the third class rating). The date to be determined. I will defiantly keep you posted on this one because, Richard is more than just deserving on this.

Now for me... I have been in a new job just shy of a month and let me tell you, it is great. I love it so much. I am now working on the Multi-Service Ward in the hospital. We do everything from post operative, post delivery, baby care and elderly care. It is just so good to be able to work with patients again. Not to mention I get to work with some of the Cubans that decided to stay when the gates were officially closing. They have so much knowledge and history to share. I love while I am taking care of them, they tell me their stories. It makes the day go by faster and I learn things that you won't learn by reading any book.

Thanksgiving came and went. Richard and I had to work. So we made up Thanksgiving on the following Saturday. We made a huge dinner and shared it with everyone in our barracks. I wished I would have remember to take pictures, but I was so excited about all the food I made I forgot.
Richard and I this whole month had the same days off so we did lots of fun stuff together. Mostly just hung out with one another but it was still fun anyway.

Me just enjoying the evening sun out at Richard and I's favorite spot!!
Well until next time. I wish you all the best.

Guantanamo Bay Happings
September was the month to celebrate Hispanic Heritage. The Hispanic Heritage Association decided to have a semi-formal dinner. It was a lot of fun to be able to dress up and have a great time with friends. Richard was not able to go because he had to work that night. It just wasn't the same without him so I didn't stay very long. I had to go see him at work. I mean, he is really the only reason I like to dress up and look this good.

Richard got this picture before I left for the dinner.
Then came October. The only thing that happened in October was the Halloween Costume Party. Richard was Billy the Bullseye and I was Tina the Target. Richard hated his costume but he still wore it just for me. That is how I know he loves me. I thought on the other hand he looked handsome. You can see for yourself below.

Richard and I before the party on 27 October 2007.

The group we went out with.
Well the next big event was the horrible tropical storm that we have been enduring for the past week. It was so bad that Richard was stuck on Leeward for my birthday. It was too dangerous to have boats in the water to taxi people from one side of the island to the other side. The waves were the largest ones I have ever seen here. It was actually kind of scary. I wish I would have gotten some pictures to show you but I didn't want to be outside in this stuff. Like I said it was scary.
In the middle of all of this bad weather came my birthday. That is right my 28th birthday. Not much happened because Richard was stuck on the other side. So I really didn't feel like doing much but eating a twinkie as my birthday cake and drinking some milk. Today though Richard made up for it. He was able to come home and spend lots of time with me which was great. He also got me some fantastic gifts. He gave me an iron man watch, 2 cookbooks and some great Rachel Ray green pots and pans. I loved all my presents. It was so good to know that my boyfriend knows me so very well. I mean most girls wouldn't really like to get that type of stuff on their birthday but for me it was better than anything he could have gotten me.
Well that is all for now. I will keep you posted on what is new. Have fun and stay safe.
